Thank you for your fantastic support to shape the future of your Library!

Through the visioning process from January to May, we had interviews with over 100 key informants, four Task Force sessions, four focus groups, five community forums, 2,790 survey responses and 184 additional comments. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on our shared future!
Through the data collected, community feedback, and work of the Library Visioning Task Force, a framework was created. This framework defines the community values related to the Library, the desired roles and preferred future of the Library, and outlines desired attributes of a physical space to support that vision. For more information and the full engagement findings report, visit www.lakeoswego.city/LibraryVisioning or email LibraryVisioning@lakeoswego.city.
The framework will help the City with decisions related to expanding and investing in Library services, programs, and amenities in alignment with the community’s vision. The City Council reviewed the findings and recommendations during the July 18, 2023 City Council meeting.
Following up on the Council and community feedback, we are exploring different service models for enhancing access, program offerings, and service delivery. This work includes developing a strategic plan for the Library informed by the community visioning process. We look forward to sharing progress updates during winter 2023-24.
And we still want to hear your thoughts! In addition to finding us at the Library or contacting us through phone or email, the Library Team will be at various community events this summer, including our mobile pop-up library ROVER. We are excited to share what we learned through the visioning process and we welcome more feedback. There will also be questions related to Library Visioning in the 2023 Community Survey coming this fall. Let us know what you think of the vision for the Library of the future!
Lastly, this will be the last email outreach for this first phase of this project. We thank you again for your commitment and participation in this process. To stay up-to-date on the Library announcements, programs, and events, subscribe to our biweekly Library e-newsletter.
