July Pet of the Month – Meet The Black Pearl, the Pine Cone-Seeking Pirate Pug!  🌟

Published July 2, 2024

Ahoy, Palisades crew! Set yer eyes on Pearl, our mischievous Pug and this month’s Pet of the Month. This 15-pound lass with her sleek black coat is the landlubber’s version of the infamous Black Pearl —unpredictable, irresistible, and full o’ surprises!

Known to her mates as Squirrel and Dinkus, Pearl roams her domain with the same swagger as the fabled ship captained by Jack Sparrow himself. She may be small, but don’t be fooled—she’s got a heart as mighty as the high seas!

Pearl’s adventures are as legendary as her namesake’s. When she’s not cuddlin’ with her avocado stuffy, she’s hoarding pine cones like treasure in the captain’s quarters. No pine cone is safe from this pint-sized pirate! Her hoarding skills rival any pirate’s treasure stash.

And beware, for Pearl’s mischievous side can catch ye off guard—whether she’s napping or unleashing one of her signature sneezes right in yer face, she’s sure to bring a gale of laughter and love to her crew.

Keep a weather eye out for Pearl as she struts through our neighborhood. She’s not just a Pug; she’s the mighty Black Pearl of our Palisades—small but mighty, a spark plug of joy, and the treasure of our community.

Happy sailing, Pearl! We’re thrilled to have ye as part of our Palisades family. đŸ•đŸ´â€â˜ ď¸

  • PNA Board will Vote on Which Items To Include in our NEP Proposal: During the month of March PNA board meeting the NEP Coordinator asks the board to vote on the proposed item(s). NEP Coordinator encourages person(s) proposing the item(s) to attend the meeting to answer questions that might come up. What Happens Next:

  • Iris McCaleb from the City forwards the NEP grant proposals to the grant review committee and then to the City Council who review it and awards certain grants. The NEP Coordinator will receive a letter of award from the City and will share it with the PNA Leadership Team.
  • As items are purchased from the approved grant list, the project close-out form is filled out by the person requesting reimbursement. They will attach digital copies of receipts and photos and then submit all to both the NEP Project Coordinator and the PNA Chair. The NEP Project Coordinator submits the reimbursement request to Iris at the City for reimbursement.
  • Reimbursement checks are then sent directly to the person who purchased the item(s).
