Meet Nancy Sage: Area 8’s Dynamic Representative! 🛠️ 🏕️

Published July 31, 2024

For August’s newsletter, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Nancy Sage, the dedicated Area Representative for Area 8 and our liaison with LO Parks and Rec Department.

From San Francisco to Lake Oswego
Nancy’s roots are from the Bay Area, where she grew up surrounded by farms and orchards. Her childhood was spent running around barefoot, climbing trees, and building forts, always returning home when dinner was on the table. Nancy’s parents hail from Bordeaux, France, and lived through the challenges of World War II before relocating to the San Francisco Bay Area. Nancy cherishes her connection to her numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins still residing in France and visits often to maintain those bonds.

Family and Career Journey

Nancy’s path led her from the Bay Area to Lake Oswego through a tech startup job. Nancy and her husband Jeff chose Lake Oswego for its quality of life and excellent school district. Nancy’s daughter and son have grown up in Lake Oswego and proudly call themselves Oregonians.

Culinary Adventures and Family Traditions

Nancy and Jeff are true food enthusiasts with a deep love for cooking. They have a collection of cherished family recipes from Nancy’s French heritage and Jeff’s Italian background. Nancy is particularly passionate about baking, often recreating traditional family dishes. She makes a delightful focaccia and the famous “tucu” sauce, a beloved Italian red sauce inherited from Jeff’s Italian family.

DIY Homeowner Extraordinaire

Nancy and Jeff are bona fide DIY homeowners. Before spinning her Rolodex of construction contacts from various past home improvement projects, Nancy first considers what she can tackle herself. She has successfully added tiling, flooring, and landscaping to her list of achievements. Her favorite renovation surprise? Discovering beautiful oak floors beneath 70s shag carpet.

Camping and Music

Camping is another favorite pastime for Nancy, Jeff, and their poodle mixes, Teo and Beppe. During COVID, they purchased a pop-up trailer, making it easy to explore Oregon’s rivers and lakes. Whether working in her garden or off on another camping adventure, Nancy’s playlist, featuring 70s soul, funk, and today’s pop hits, provides the perfect soundtrack for her adventures.

Area 8 is in great hands with Nancy Sage, whose adventurous spirit and love for community shine through in everything she does.
