August Pet of the Month – Meet Charlie! 🐾

Published August 4, 2024

New to the Palisades neighborhood, we are thrilled to introduce our Pet of the Month, Charlie, a six-year-old Chocolate Labrador Retriever whose full name is actually Kelly McGillis call sign “Charlie”, inspired by the Top Gun movie. Also known as Chucky and Charlie Girl, this Maverick of a dog is always ready for action.

When she’s not instructing other dogs on how to “fly”, Charlie loves playing with her big red jolly ball. Although her family isn’t too thrilled, she has a sneaky habit of munching on grass—her version of an aerial refuel—and then throwing it up in the house. Another mischievous maneuver is stealing her little humans’ toys when her excitement goes into afterburner mode.

Charlie enjoys high-speed chases with her ball at the park and taking the plunge in the water. One of her most memorable “missions” happened when she was just a young pup. Her ball bounced onto an icy pond, and without hesitation, Charlie launched herself onto the ice. The next thing her family knew, she was in the frigid water, swimming like a true Top Gun pilot in a dogfight. Thankfully, she was rescued immediately and cuddled back to her normal temperature.

Keep an eye out for Charlie as she prances around our neighborhood. She’s not just a playful pup; she’s our very own Top Gun ace, brave and beloved.

Happy days, Charlie! We’re so glad to have you as a part of our Palisades squadron.

  • As items are purchased from the approved grant list, the project close-out form is filled out by the person requesting reimbursement. They will attach digital copies of receipts and photos and then submit all to both the NEP Project Coordinator and the PNA Chair. The NEP Project Coordinator submits the reimbursement request to Iris at the City for reimbursement.
  • Reimbursement checks are then sent directly to the person who purchased the item(s).
