The Memorable Mungo & Magnificent Mia – The Wheaten Dream Team

Published February 7, 2025

Mungo (aka Mungie Baby or the formidable Mungus)

At 9 ½ years old, Mungo is the dignified elder statesman of the household. A Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier by breed but a truck-riding, couch-hopping, dad-following legend by nature. Toys? Beneath him. Digging? Only on an industrial scale. When he’s not overseeing the homestead from one comfy spot to another, he’s perfecting the art of the Wheaten Greet’n, greeting guests with an enthusiasm that could knock them off their feet.

A loyal shadow to Dad, Mungo takes his role as the household’s Best Boy very seriously—except for that one time he caught a rat, had a moment of existential crisis when it squealed, and decided hunting was a life choice he would respectfully decline. Despite his age, he’s still got a little mischief in him, but mostly, he’s a wise and noble soul who rules the house with quiet confidence…until he decides selective hearing is the move, in which case Mungus emerges.

Princess Mia – The Royal Rascal

At 2 ½ years old, Princess Mia has fully embraced her royal title and all the privileges that come with it—mainly, getting her way. What’s hers is hers, and what’s Mungo’s? Also hers. Whether it’s food (which she steals with finesse) or a good wrestling match (where she uses Mungo as a chew toy), she is relentless in her pursuit of fun. He may grumble, bare his teeth, and give her a growl of disapproval, but let’s be real—she always wins.

Mia is the embodiment of curiosity, adventure, and playful mischief. She loves truck rides, outdoor escapades, and “hunting”—though whether that means actual hunting or just getting into trouble is up for debate. She’s the wild heart of the duo, full of energy and clever schemes, and she brings out the best (and most patient) side of her big brother.

Together, Mungo and Mia are the perfect blend of wise and wild, composed and chaotic, dignified and downright devious. One thing’s for sure—life with them is never boring!
