In recent years, Lake Oswego community members have voiced growing concerns about the use of gas-powered landscaping equipment. These concerns include excessive noise, air pollution, and health impacts for both users and the broader community. See City’s webpage here: link
In response, the Lake Oswego City Council included a key initiative in its 2025 adopted goals:
“Develop an operational plan, potential code options and communications strategy to phase out use of gas-powered yard and lawn care equipment in Lake Oswego after the City of Portland’s ban goes into effect. This project should have a two-year time frame.“

To ensure this transition reflects the needs and perspectives of our community, we want to hear from:
- Residents and property owners
- Landscaping professionals and businesses operating in Lake Oswego
Your input will help shape Lake Oswego’s policies, support programs, and communication efforts that are informed, equitable, and practical.
