No matter how our neighborhood students get to school, here are a few important safety reminders from the Red Cross:

Walking: Always use the sidewalk. If there isn’t one, walk facing traffic.
Riding the bus: Stand a safe distance from the curb while waiting. Stay in clear view of the bus driver, and never walk behind the bus.
Biking: Always wear a helmet and ride on the right, moving in the same direction as traffic.
Driving (teens): Drive slowly through neighborhood streets and never use a cell phone while behind the wheel.
And for all drivers in our community: please be patient as everyone settles into new school-year routines.
