Even though Lakeview Boulevard is outside the Palisades neighborhood, it is a vital road for every resident.
After nine months of intensive construction and major traffic changes, the project is nearly complete. Highlights include:
- 2,450 feet of new concrete sidewalk, curb, and gutter along the north side of Lakeview
- A new, highly visible crosswalk and improved parking at the Lake Grove Swim Park
- 3,360 feet of new stormwater pipe, 25 catch basins, and the largest underground stormwater treatment system ever installed by the City
- 4,470 feet of fully reconstructed roadway and pavement between South Shore and Iron Mountain
- Fresh, high-visibility striping to clearly define travel lanes for all roadway users
Some final cleanup and restoration work will continue in the coming weeks. Please watch for flaggers and expect occasional, brief delays through the fall as crews finish up.
