South Shore Fire Station – Update
December 2025
Exciting News!!
A citizens committee is in formation as a Political Action Committee (PAC) to continue informing city residents of the critical importance of the new South Shore Fire Station. This committee will be a “small army” of citizen volunteers – contributing their energy and expertise in the following areas:
- Electronic media – Facebook, Nextdoor, Instagram, etc.
- Printed media – letter writing, press coverage, etc.
- Fundraising – for printed materials, filing fees for endorsement letters, advertising.
- Endorsements – from civic organizations, neighbors, clubs, etc.
- Canvassing – the 1st 3 weekends of May (right after ballots have been mailed)
- Public speaking – to neighborhood associations, civic organizations, etc.

Please consider joining the team!
Later this month, LOFD Asst. Chief Kris Artman will report to city council on the project’s cost range. We’ll provide an update in January’s newsletter.
Stay tuned for more information in future updates!
