A WORD FROM MAYOR JOE BUCK![]() This Fourth of July we certainly have a great deal to celebrate. Our community has shown the resilience formed by working together to keep one another safe. Now that the state’s pandemic restrictions are lifted let’s celebrate by continuing to build that spirit of perseverance and respect for one another that made our city even stronger over this past year. We’ve shown that our city can adapt well to changing conditions and is capable of working together to keep one another safe. As we move into the holiday weekend, let’s look out for the safety of our city and one another. I strongly urge all residents to skip the fireworks and remind everyone that the city is taking any use of illegal fireworks extremely seriously.Celebrate safety with one another, enjoy the return of summer concerts, walk and play in our beautiful parks, look out for one another and have a joyful Fourth of July weekend! ![]() CHLORINE SUPPLY UPDATE On Monday, our water treatment plant received a shipment of chlorine. Our call for a reduction in water usage is now lifted. However, with the record-setting heat and severe drought, being mindful of our water usage, watering smart, and conserving where we can is more important than ever. This is one of the busiest times of year for emergency responders and dispatchers.Please consider ways to celebrate the Fourth of July safely without fireworks this year, for the sake of our community and fire crews. The work will last through early fall and impact several streets:Bryant Road (between Jean Road and Canal Woods)Overlook Drive (between Westview Drive and Tree Top Lane)Melrose Street (between Fosberg Road and Peters Road)Lake Shore Road loopAdditional streets will receive major spot patching repairs.Please be sure to pay attention to signage and flaggers in work areas to ensure your safety and the safety of others. The Lake Oswego Swim Park, located at 250 Ridgeway Road, is open daily from 1 to 6 p.m. (weather permitting).Open through August 29, Swim Park entry is free and available to residents of Lake Oswego. Certified lifeguards are on duty at all times during open hours. The Swim Park features diving platforms, inner tubes, lounge chairs, picnic tables, various water toys, and a limited number of U.S. Coast Guard approved life jackets. Tee times start at 5:30 p.m. READ MORE ![]() COVID-19 UPDATES All State COVID-19 Restrictions have been liftedEffective June 30, Governor Kate Brown lifted all remaining COVID-19 restrictions including the statewide mask mandate, capacity limits, and physical distancing restrictions imposed by Executive Orders, along with the County risk levels.In addition, Oregon OSHA has removed the facial covering and physical distancing requirements of its COVID-19 rule for all workplaces, with certain exceptions, including health care, public transit, and airports.Vaccine UpdateAll Oregonians over the age of 12 are now eligible to sign up for a COVID-19 vaccine.
